Some people'll do anything to escape Deborah Voigt and her overexposed, oversized 'little' black dress, in one of the few Covent Garden productions this year I've no intention of seeing.
I've ensured maximum distance by temporary emigration to San Francisco, where today I chanced on California's first gay wedding, a historic occasion attended by thousands. No, not the couple at the top of the page, which is where I had my money, but the two adorable ladies pictured below, 83 year old Phyllis and 87 year old Del, gay rights pioneers who've been together for 50 years. Even the cops were smiling (sort of).
Looking forward to more entertainment SF-style, Lucia di Lammermoor opens tomorrow at the SF Opera with Natalie Dessay starring.
And on Wednesday, David Beckham shows San Francisco his underpants as he unveils 'a giant mural' (?)outside SF Macy's.
With a strong £, and Barneys, Saks, Nordies and Needless all on sale, life could hardly be schweeder.
I may even get the time to update the blog with the many concerts I attended in London last week, who knows.
