Bryn Terfel was interviewed on Radio 3's In Tune this week, where he talked about his career plans. This month's concert performance in Verbier will be his last appearance in the role of Don Giovanni. Apparently the preposterous costumery of the Vienna Staatsoper production convinced him he's safer as Leporello .....
He's firmly booked at La Scala for a new Flying Dutchman in a couple of years time (a change he said from their normal notice period, which is about a month).
And just in case Covent Garden still need a Mephistopheles for their forthcoming Faust, he kindly offered his services.
Listen here.
