Stefan Herheim's new production of La bohème opened in Oslo last week.
Herheim begins with Mimi's death and uses the opera to examine Rodolfo's reaction to it. The concept is explained in more detail in a Wagneropera.net interview with Alexander Meier-Dörzenbach, the production's dramaturg.
