LA Opera have just announced their 2012-2013 season, of which the highlight is their one new production, I Due Foscari. Directed by Thaddeus Strassberger, it stars Plácido Domingo in the increasingly familiar guise of an aging Doge. Baritone of course.
The production comes to Covent Garden in October 2014, though whether Plácido will still be clinging on to his dogal robes by then is anyone's guess.
