Not everyone knows the words to the second verse of the National Anthem. Including, it seems, Royal Opera House boss Lord Hall, who flubbed them on the Covent Garden stage earlier tonight in front of the Queen.
Earlier, HM was greeted by Lord Hall, ROH chairman Simon Robey, Kasper Holten and Kevin O'Hare before settling down for a celebratory Diamond Jubilee gala evening of opera and ballet.
Intermezzo, for some reason, was not invited.
