Paris Opera's new Carmen is Anna Caterina Antonacci - in a platinum wig.
There's more than a hint of Almodóvar about Yves Beaunesne's production, which opens tonight. It's set in the late '70s, when La Movida emerged to rub up against the traditional culture. Nikolai Schukoff is Don José and Philippe Jordan conducts.
The 13 December performance will be streamed live to cinemas, including London's Ciné Lumière. Tickets (£8 - 15) here.
