ENO can't sell tickets, but can they give them away?
We'll see. Six tickets for Philip Glass's The Perfect American are up for grabs by any 18-26 year old opera virgins willing to subject themselves to hideous Wozzeck-style marketing experiments, beginning with a pre-match questionnaire. Free drinks (it doesn't say how many) will be handed out afterwards to take away the nasty taste.
If ENO want to convince young sceptics that opera is the cultural equivalent of soggy brussels sprouts, they're making a fine job of it.
