A welcome confluence of circumstance.
A BBC2 broadcast of Covent Garden's Hänsel und Gretel sometime over the Christmas period (date not yet known), plus the start of live online streaming for BBC1 and BBC2, means that you should be able to watch Hänsel und Gretel online.
Depending on which performance they choose to film, the cast includes Angelika Kirchschlager and Diana Damrau, or Alice Coote and Camilla Tilling as the children, with Thomas Allen or Eike Wilm Schulte and Anja Silja or Ann Murray in support. Colin Davis (in possibly his last ROH show) or Robin Ticciati conduct.
The Royal Opera House website may have further information on its TV page here at some point.
As the cinema broadcast is on Dec 16th worldwide (Kirchschlager/Damrau) wouldn't that also be the live streamed version? I am hoping ROH puts up H&G online too, just as Keenlyside's DG.

I'm hoping for Ann Murray as her husband, Philip Langridge, is the Witch in the Met's new video. I believe it is the first time a husband and wife have sung the same role and it would be terrific to have them both on video.

@ DOA - The BBC won't be broadcasting the performance live, just streaming the broadcast live (subtle but vital difference!), and the date will be in the xmas holiday period. So I guess they could use the performance from the 16th. I strongly suspect it will be Kirchschlager and Damrau in any case,as they're doing most of the pre-xmas shows. It would be nice if the ROH could put it online, but even if they don't, it may become available after broadcast on the BBC iPlayer.
@ljg - excellent point! I bet you're right. Unless there are any baroque mezzos married to countertenors (but that would probably contradict the laws of nature.....)

Ah, thanks for the info.
I'll be watching the live cinema broadcast in any case.
The BBC player sounds good, but far as I know is only availabe for a few days and not downloadable. So still hoping for a ROH upload later.

This will be available across the pond as well? I did try BBC2 today [they are streaming online already] to see if I would be able to get it day of; however, it seems they've restricted it to just the Brits? I know ROH stuff is broadcast internationally though, if ROH puts it up on their own website.

I believe it's not available outside the UK (not sure) - the reason being is that we pay a hefty annual licence fee for the privilege of watching TV here, not to mention bandwidth issues.
