ENO are offering tickets for their forthcoming Jenufa at superlow prices - side stalls £20, dress circle £10 and balcony £5.
Online purchase only - go to this page and follow the instructions.
And they'll even give you your money back if you don't like it!
David Alden's production, which premiered a couple of years ago, is intelligent and innovative. I'm not familiar with the conductor, Eivind Gullberg Jensen, but the cast, which includes Amanda Roocroft and Tom Randle, sounds fairly reliable.
If you're not familiar with the Coliseum's seating, the balcony is only for people with teeny bottoms and short legs. Some of the dress circle seats have a reduced view of the top of the stage, so the side stalls are the best pick if you can spring for the £20.
I tried to book £10 seats in the Dress Circle but, despite my entering the correct code, the system steadfastly refused to reduce the tickets from £76 to £10 (maybe a dastardly plot to make people buy more expensive tickets? I don't think so...); instead, I bought two in the Side Stalls for £20 - still exceptional value.

I should have said 'thank you' to Intermezzo for posting this offer, I don't know what publicity ENO has given it as I haven't seen about it anywhere else.

Many thanks from me too! It was the first I'd heard of it too. PS. Saw the Hollander last night and don't agree with you, but then I wouldn't, would I? Also the cast had a sort of water fight on stage at the end (last night high spirits), which was fun - chief culprit Mr T., needless to say. Spring must be here!

Thank you for this. I saw it tonight and sat in the stalls for the first time ever at ENO!
Was an amazing show.
