"An estimated crowd of about 700 people" (mostly seniors with cameraphones by the looks of it) flocked to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles on Sunday for the classical equivalent of a Justin Bieber / Lady Gaga summit.

Twinkling pillars of the LA music scene Plácido Domingo and Gustavo Dudamel, appearing together for the first time according to the LA TImes, "promised a more formal stage collaboration in Los Angeles" sometime in the future.
