Tonight, 8 July, at 8pm CET (that's 7pm UK), the Bavarian State Opera will stream Fidelio live from Munich on their website.
Calixto Bieito's production, which premiered in December 2010, features Anja Kampe as Leonore and Jonas Kaufmann as Florestan. Adam Fischer conducts and the event will be introduced by TV presenter Thomas Gottschalk, who is like the Jonathan Ross of Germany only without the obscene phone calls.
I won't be turning my laptop on - because I'll be live from Munich too. (May tweet, may not.)
Thank you, Intermezzo. I was in time for the 2nd act stream. A somewhat silly production (the Joker? the change of clothes? the shot?) but very good singing.
How was it live?

Thanks for the early warning about this one. I was able to see a little bit of the first act and the entire second act. And the intermission chats. Why is it that European opera emcees are always hotties?
It was a thought-provoking piece and the singing and acting were superb.

I saw some of this - musically it sounded pretty good.
I guess this is the third and missing ENO co-production ?
In which I don't think we missed much !
