The Wiener Philharmoniker are fonder of a cold wet nose than you might think. Eight members of the orchestra are featured in this months Wuff magazine, together with their furry friends.
Jansons has dropped out of New years Day concert apparently. More ill-health.

Those chihuahuas had better not get stuck in that tuba or they may well end up as a Wiener of another sort. "Wuff Magazine Online" - love it, hours of innocent fun for the musical dog lover!

A chihuahua called FAFNER??? I like...

Intermezzo replies - I suspect it's because of Fafner's tuba motif in the Ring Cycle. But it's still amusing.

Jansons hasn't cancelled the New Year's Day concert yet! But I wouldn't be surprised if he did. Orchestra not likely to be best pleased; Jansons got two extra rehearsals out of them (yes, for Walzer, I know).
Incidentally Fafner is the brand name of Halwax's tuba model.

Brilliant IM! As always you find the stuff we'd miss otherwise!

One of the things I love about Vienna is how dog-friendly the city is.
