Claus Guth's new production of Die Frau ohne Schatten comes to Covent Garden next year, but first it premieres at La Scala - on 11 March.

daddy I want a harpsichord
Absolutely stunning. I hope the headdresses don't interfere with singing, but perhaps the characters other than falcon are statisten? Would love to see this in a couple of years revival at ROH with JK as Emperor. A girl can dream, right?

Looks fantastic, very spare but there's some really striking images in the slideshow. Falke! Falke!
Intermezzo, when are the ROH and ENO going to announce their 2012/13 seasons, any idea? Thanks.

Looks amazing - I wonder how many people are going to turn up and boo despite having seen the photos a whole freakin' year early?

It certainly looks stylish - and at least seems to be a deserving replacement for the Hockney production. Which in (IMHO) was a very fine one albeit quite at the end of its useful life.

I can't wait for this! Perhaps one day the ROH will do Daphne too?

Perhaps we could extrapolate from the people who did the same for Rusalka...

Looking forward to it! Just what the doctor ordered after the dull and unsatisfying Salzburg production last year. Let's hope that the musical standards are equally as high.
