Why are there so many tickets left for the LSO's concert performances of Der Freischütz later in week? There are plenty of decent seats for under £20 so it can't be the cost.
I was lucky enough to attend a couple of rehearsals last week. The casting is superb, Sir Colin is in his element and you can avoid Widdecombe (truly dire, believe me) at the ROH. What more persuasion do you need?
OMG ;) I read it first as "sales B..itch " ;) shame on me ;)

Well, I'd go like a shot, but I live in New Zealand.

Did you go to either of the evening performances, Intermezzo?
I really enjoyed it on Saturday. For me the only real weak point in the casting was Christine Brewer; she sounded very strained and struggled with intonation, and was pretty much pwned by a stellar performance from Sally Matthews. Top marks to Brewer for style though: she had her own little claque somewhere on the right of the stalls.
Oh, and there was a moment of weirdness when the chap singing the Hermit appeared in a sort of novelty tux featuring a huge man-cleavage and wavy satin trousers. A small word of advice: you looked like a prat, and nobody will remember you for your singing.
