Anna Netrebko discloses in an interview that she's happy without a computer, and wouldn't know how to turn one on. In fact, she's never looked at her own website.
She told the Kronen Zeitung that Erwin Schrott googled her once and came up with "Netrebko has got really fat and has no voice". After that, she realised it was better to avoid computers altogether.
She's advised her Twitter-addicted blogger of an other half to do the same, because it exhausts his energy when he get angry at what's been written. Good advice for all singers (and opera directors) I think.
Hard to believe in this day and age.

Beware enraged choreographers...

I wish she would go computer way one day to chat with her a little ;) ... as to this post in your blog - I've heard something on a subject before , why not for the soprano No.1 nowadays ? She can indulge in doing this ...

Probably good advice for anyone in the public eye - unless you've got skin like a rhino.

Anna is sensible to steer clear of all the ridiculous comments about her (sometimes mine included), and just lead her life.

Haha Manou - go on, "Say who! Say who!"

Stop making ridiculous comments about her then, Sheila!

Private joke - sorry!

Its not hard to believe for me. This is still the same age where not everybody has a mobile phone. I know those who focus on real life and what they do best and see anything attached to a computer as a irrelevance, as administrative, as to be delegated. I know some peoples livelihood depends on the net including myself but it is refreshing to know that 'the world' is still big enough for people to use the richness of their own minds and not be caught up.

Creativity and an appreciation for the universe have nothing to do with being able to use a technology.
Some public figures get themselves into trouble with their Facebook or Twitter utterings. Anna Netrebko is smart not to engage. It's also smart not to read reviews and casual postings (and newspaper articles, which are mostly stupid). Such items do not help a singer have the strength to stand in front of thousands of people and manage a trill.

And yet another reason to admire Anna Netrebko.

She mentions this on her Utube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVCMX3Be4o8&feature=bf_prev&list=ULvyvYaebkrKw
How she does a Utube channel if she can't use a computer I honestly don't know
