"To realise the magic of our beautiful tin simply twist the body
anticlockwise and the delicately embossed horses prance to the lilting
melody of La Traviata. To complete this feast on the senses the tin
holds a scintillating selection of our scrumptious biscuits
in seven different flavours, including our clotted cream digestives,
luscious lemon thins and chocolate & macadamia nut."

It doesn't actually say which tune it plays. I've been on a carousel at Blackpool Pleasure Beach that played the second theme from the Prelude, among other things...

I see that Fortnum & Mason doesn't specify which particular lilting melody from La Trav. we are to be treated to. I rather fancy pulling out the clotted cream digestives to "Gran dio! morir si giovane" myself ...

Oh yes - the aforementioned Blackpool carousel also played "Ah, fors'e' lui". I'd forgotten all about it until you posted this.

"To complete this feast on the senses"
Well if this is the level of Fortnum's grasp of the English language, it doesn't bode well for their choice of Italian music.....
(It's bound to be "Libiamo", wittily replacing champagne with biscuits. Perhaps they'll have commissioned a new recording: "Mangiamo")
