On BBC4 on Friday 10 May at 7.30pm for one whole hour, Rolando Villazón probes The Genius of Verdi.
Let's hope it's as entertaining as his last BBC documentary, What Makes a Great Tenor.

If this is anything like 'What Makes a Great Tenor, then I think this will be entertaining and hopefully a bit informative as well. Maybe this is the way forward as he is certainly a great communicator for opera.
But I'll be giving his Verdi concert a miss - after hearing him at the Domingo Operalia gala last year, I can't say I'm remotely tempted by a live performance.

At this rate, Morticia's batting average of turning up for and actually managing to sing about 50% of her house engagements is starting to make her look like old reliable. Roll on (her third) Rondine.....
