Booking has just opened for Parsifal at the Teatro Comunale Bologna next January. Romeo Castellucci's strange and unsettling production was first shown at La Monnaie in 2011. It's truly like no other opera production I've ever seen. Tickets are going fast, so don't hang around.
For the Bologna revival, Andrew Richards (Parsifal) and Anna Larsson (Kundry) return from that cast, together with Lucio Gallo, Gabor Bretz, Detlef Roth and Arutjun Kotchinian. Roberto Abbado conducts.
If you can't get to Bologna, a DVD of the Brussels show
will be coming out in November.
There is currently no link to the production on the Teatro Comunale website, so thanks to Vecchio John for uncovering the ticket link.
Thank you Vecchio John and IM for the heads up.
I had already booked travel and accommodation, but didn't think tickets would be available until 8 January 2014. I have now booked them.
Can't wait to see this.
Again, many thanks.
