Eva Wagner-Pasquier is to quit the Bayreuth Festival when her current contract ends in 2015.
Her half-sister and co-chief Katharina Wagner is expected to carry on in charge, though it's not clear at this stage whether she would do so alone. Contract negotiations are ongoing.
Wagner-Pasquier's resignation was widely expected; a quiet and private individual, ill at ease in the spotlight, she will be 70 by the time of her departure. She has offered to stay on as a consultant.
When will people other than the family be in charge? You have to wonder.

Intermezzo replies - Not until they change the terms under which the entity which owns the festival was set up. And that might be tough (/impossible) to do, legally speaking - at least while there is a Wagner descendent willing and capable of running it.
