Full details of the Deutsche Oper Berlin's visit to the Proms are now up on their website.
30 August is the date for a concert performance of Salome, with Nina Stemme in the title role and Donald Runnicles wielding the baton.
Strauss-lovers will be pleased to hear that this performance is just part of a wide-ranging anniversary celebration at the Proms.
(UPDATE - the website page has now been deleted - obviously DOB's collective wrist has been slapped by the Proms secret police).
Is there any chance we can be told what 'was' announced at the DOH website re their visit to the Proms - apart from the Stemme Salome?

Intermezzo replies - What do you want to know?

Mainly if the DOB (not DOH - sorry) is presenting other operas and, if so, conductors and main cast?

Intermezzo replies - That was the only date given on their website - however odd it seems that they would come over for one single-act opera only.
There is more Strauss opera at the Proms to be announced, but none involves the DOB.

I'll be in London c. 7 Aug- 20 Aug. A couple of the Proms look interesting, Nos. 41, 45, 46. My question: Tickets go on sale in May. What are the usual price ranges? What are the pros and cons of the seating in the Albert Hall? Should I just buy tickets to any night, because there will be changes made?
I saw a private seller advertising Proms tickets for over $1,600. ???

Intermezzo replies - The 2014 season hasn't been officially announced yet, so you should doubt any information you've seen (unless you're 100% confident the source is reliable).
2013 ticket prices are here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/proms/features/ticket-prices. 2014 prices may well be higher (especially in the lower price bands, which always bear the brunt of inflation). Typically operas and visiting ensembles are in the higher price bands.
Best to try and get tickets through official channels when booking opens on 17 May. Any changes made after this date are usually only down to cast illnesses and similar.
Theatremonkey has a decent rundown of seat options http://www.theatremonkey.com/ROYALALBERTHALLbooking.htm

This is just guessing, but I imagine other Proms Strauss operas could be: Rosenkavalier from Glyndebourne, the RO Ariadne revival - which might explain Pappano conducting the production's fourth outing at the ROH - are strong possibilities and apparently a BBCSO Elektra is hotly rumoured. No idea who will be conducting or singing though. Gardner, maybe, as he conducted a concert Elektra at the Edinburgh Festival a few years back.

Intermezzo replies - Good guesses, but not 10/10.

it will be Semyon Bychkov conducting and this promises to be be a real great. He has done it in Vienna years ago which caused a sensation - his current reading of FROSCH at ROH is also not to be missed, simply fantastic!
